Not all USB to serial (RS232) adaptors are created equal. If your computer lacks a serial (COM, RS232 port) you will need an adaptor. The adaptor we offer is based on the FTDI chips, which have proven themselves the most dependable. We carry this adaptor purely as a convenience service, so you can order it with your SPLat Developer’s Kit. Drivers can be downloaded from
the FTDI download page. The VCP driver is the correct one.
