Custom SPLat: Prototypes

Normally we will deliver two lots of prototypes. The first, called Alpha Test Prototypes (ATP) are early prototypes that you use to verify for compliance with the specification and to test inhouse. Once you sign off on the ATPs we make any corrections and prepare the Beta Test Prototypes (BTPs). These you incorporate into examples of your product and put out to friendly users to field test.

Once you have thoroughly evaluated and signed off on the BTPs we can commence the production ramp-up.

The ATPs usually take 6-10 weeks, depending on complexity and prior work load. The BPTs can take 2-6 weeks after ‘Alpha Sign-off’. Your testing time is additional, and could range from days to months depending on the product (beta testing an air conditioning controller mid-winter would be rather pointless!)
