CC16TB terminal board (for production use)

The CC16TB gives you a convenient way of connecting to the I/O and power pins of the CC16/18 controller using screw terminal blocks.It features:

  • Screw terminals for all 16 I/O points, with several convenience connections to V+ and 0V;
  • Screw terminals for feeding power, with reverse polarity protection;
  • Supplied with mounting hardware.

Using the CC16TB

When you receive the CC16TB, the mounting hardware will be loose. You need to assemble it yourself. Use the picture above as a guide. You get the correct board to board spacing with one tubular spacer and a flat nylon washer. The terminal board is permanently fixed to the controller. The hexagonal posts also give you the ability to mount the whole assembly to a base plate. The screws double as locating pins for the board to board connection. When plugging the two boards together, take care to align the connectors properly. It is perfectly normal for a small part of the pins on the controller to be visible when the two boards are connected.

You can connect power for the whole assembly through the pair of screw terminals marked 0V/V+ IN (the separate pair closest to the camera in the picture). That connection has a polarity protection diode. The other is for convenience and comes after the protection diode, so anything connected to them will also be protected against reverse polarity.

You can also use the regular power connector on the CC16/18 itself, if you prefer.

External input and output devices are connected using the same principles as connecting directly to the controller board. The only difference is that the plug-in pins of the CC16/18 have been extended to screw terminals.

The CC16TB does not support the CC18 analog inputs.
