The HD8 is a SPLat single board programmable logic controller that includes a number of innovative features. Key features are:

  • 4 bidirectional digital I/O points. Each can be used as an input or as an output.
  • 3 seven-segment red LED numeric display digits.
  • 3 push button switches;
  • 2 analog inputs with selectable ranges: 0-5V, 0-10V, 0-20mA or thermistor.
  • 2 TTL/CMOS (5V) level pulse width modulated (PWM) outputs suitable for driving RC servos.
  • Xwire serial expansion bus to allow multiple controllers to be networked and/or connection of a range of special function peripheral boards.
  • Xpice expansion connector to allow use of a range of standard I/O expanders.

The most unusual feature of the SPLat HD8 is its built in operator interface. This gives you push buttons and a 3-digit numeric display for operator interaction.

The HD8 is supplied two different packages.

  • HD8DK. This is the Developer’s Kit. It consists of the HD8 board plus programming software, programming cable and a set of matching connectors;
  • HD8OEM. This is the “production” version of the board (only) with matching connectors.
