Knowledge Base

This document concerns itself primarily with information that is specific to the SL100 product. In particular, it concentrates on the hardware aspects of the SL100. Because programming is uniform across all SPLat products, all SPLat programming information is located elsewhere. For more introductory information on programming please see SL100 Programming within this document.

The material is organized largely according to various hardware features. This should allow you to quickly locate the information you need in order to properly match the SL100 to the outside world and make electrical connections. There are also a couple of chapters on more general topics like determining the permissible operating temperature.

We suggest you start with a quick read through the whole document, to familiarize yourself with what’s there. After that you should be able to use it as a technical reference to look up specific information you need.

Most technical product manuals contain a Specifications section. We’ve done it a bit differently (we do many things differently, which is probably why you are using SPLat!). The numbers and ratings are discussed as part of each feature. For example, input voltages and currents are discussed under SL100 External digital inputs. While this may seem to make the information a little harder to locate (compared to a consolidated table), it gives us the ability to loosen up a little and discuss how the operating envelope can be flexed under different conditions. For example, the allowable output current depends on the operating ambient temperature.
