This document provides information on the use of the SPLat RLX8 relay board. The RLX8 is a board that converts 8 existing solid state outputs on a SPLat board into relay outputs.

Old versus New RLX8 boards

This document applies to the RLX8 board revision introduced in February 2002 (and later revisions). It does not apply to the previous revisions (those boards were supplied with a printed instruction sheet). The new RLX8 revision is a redesign carried out mainly to improve compatibility with the new MMi99 controller.

The revision number is a 4-digit date code located just below the board designation “RLX8”. The code is in the form YYMM he earliest revision this document applies to is 0202 (February 2002). The previous revision is 0003 (March 2000).

The old board revision is most easily recognized by the presence of oval shaped component positions located between the screw terminals and the relays, with labels “V1” through “V10”. A few very early boards were shipped with blue disk shaped MOV devices fitted in those positions. Newer board revisions have no place for components between the screw terminals and the relays.

Do not use this document with RLX8 boards date coded earlier than YM002
