The SPice 10200 is an add-on board for SPLat controllers that provides three channels of temperature measurement and two channels of fluid level switching.

The temperature measurement uses user-supplied low cost thermistors to perform temperature measurement at very low cost. It is suitable for applications where modest accuracy and resolution are required. Typically achievable accuracy and resolution figures are 0.2°C to 0.5°C with calibration. Without calibration accuracy is typically 2-4°C. The system is suitable for temperatures from -30°C to +300°C, though thermistors are available that will work up to 700°C

The fluid level sensing works on the principle of detecting an electric current flow between two electrodes submersed in the fluid. Hence, it works on electrically conductive fluids such as water, milk, detergent etc. It will not work with non-conductive fluids like ultra-pure water or oils.

The SPice10200 is a Touch of SPice board. This is the name applied to one of the several expansion systems supported within the SPLat Expansion Framework. The board may be used with MMi99/200, MS12 and SL99 controllers. It does not follow that future controllers will also support it … the Touch of SPice system is a very low cost expansion scheme that does not guarantee compatibility across the whole family of SPLat controller products.
