Thermistors: Extracting polynomial coefficients
In January 2012 we introduced the Thermistor hash command, which makes the use of spreadsheets largely unnecessary. SPLat/PC can now do all the hard work for you.
Once you have established the optimum operating parameters, it is time to extract the polynomial coefficients and generate the SPLat code.
The equation at the top of the Temperature versus Count graph contains the polynomial coefficients. If you click on the equation it will be revealed to be a text box. You can use your mouse to highlight any part of the box and copy it (CTRL+C). (If you accidentally change the equation, use CTRL+Z to undo the change).
If you very carefully copy the coefficients from the equation into the Polynomial Coefficients box (yellow cells), you will be able to get a table of polynomial errors versus temperature. The comments in the spreadsheet detail this.
Caution: It is very easy to miss a minus sign in the equation where it linewraps. If you get huge errors after you have copied the coefficients, double check the copied values.
