HMI430/700: External inputs and outputs
A SPLat I/O template file lists all the I/O’s and can be included in your application.
Digital
The HMI430/700 contains 8 digital I/O points which can each be used as inputs or outputs. We call these “bidirectional”. In effect they consist of an input and an output brought out to a single pin. If the output is OFF, an externally connected device (say an NPN sensor or a contact connected to circuit common) can control the on/off state of the pin. If the output is turned on, it connects the I/O pin to 0V via a transistor switch.
Analogue
The controller also has two analog inputs that may be configured for temperature or current or voltage. It also has one 0 – 10V analog output
