The MMi99 has two 5-pin connectors for its outputs. Each connector has 4 outputs plus a “convenience” connection to the board’s positive supply voltage. The supply pins are labeled with a “+” symbol. Please take a moment to identify them. They are at opposite ends of the two output connectors.

The basic principles of connecting an RLX8 to an MMi99, using the UBCC1030 cable, are:

  1. The RLX8 board is to get its required power from the + supply voltage pin on one of the two MMi99 output connectors.
  2. The relay drive pins on the RLX8 board are to be connected to the appropriate MMi99 output pins. When the MMi99 output turns on, it connects the RLX8 relay pin to 0V and completes the power circuit around the relay coil.
  3. There is no need for a ground (0V) connection between the MMi99 and the RLX8.

Before you start inserting pins into housings, it’s a good idea to have a plan for allocating RLX8 relays to MMi99 outputs.
