RLX8: Power requirements
The RLX8 draws its power from the same power supply as the SPLat controller board it is attached to. It must be powered off the same power supply.
| Do not attempt to power the RLX8 board off a different power supply than the SPLat controller. It will not work, and could damage either or both boards. |
The board uses 12VDC relay coils. Associated with each relay is a 12V regulator chip. This ensures that even on a 24VDC system power supply the relay coils will not overheat.
The minimum system supply voltage recommended to ensure reliable relay operation is 15VDC.
Each relay circuit, when activated, draws a maximum of 47mA, independent of the supply voltage. You therefore need to budget that much, times the maximum number of relays your program will turn on simultaneously.
